This was the first year that we have attempted to plant a garden. So last fall I did my homework and tried to do everything from getting the planter boxes ready to filling them with compost. This spring I had no idea how many seeds or plants to put in the ground. So I drew two lines in the ground and filled them with pumpkin seeds. Planted 12 tomato plants, 4 strawberries, 6 onions, 4 bell peppers and 12 corn. Unfortunately I planted too early and all my tomato plants and peppers died so I had to start over (live and learn). I did end up replanting and getting quite a few tomatos that I was able to make salsa and chilli sauce with. My pumpkins went crazy and took over the entire garden. I went out to gather them up the week before Halloween and was suprised to find 14 pumpkins in our garden. We have plenty to decorate our porch for the fall this year. Anybody else need any?
